School?? What?

It's offical. I'm all done with school! My last day was the 20th of October. Oh man, it seems so long ago that I was waking up everyday so early and wondering if I forgot to set my alarm. This week will be week four since I've been out. I'm going to be honest it almost doesn't really seem like i did it. It went by WAY fast. I loved it though. My last day at school mom came in and got her hair all did and I was having a small panic attack. It hit me that this was the last time that I would do hair at Austin Kade and it freaked me out. I was nervous about not having anyone looking over my shoulder all the time telling me what I did right and what I did wrong. My instructor that was on the floor with me was even like calm down. You know this, you can rock this. Turns out she was right and I totally did. So since then it has been sad to wake up and know that I won't be hanging with my friends doing hair all day but its also a good thing. On the flip side. I was SOO ready to get out of that place. The estheticians whine about being there for 4 months. It is hard to go to school kids. It just is. Anyway I'm still bummed that I'm not doing hair everyday but when I do get to do it it's awesome. I took boards on Nov 9th and I should know this week how I did. Boards were in Pocatello so a friend and I went down the night before and got a hotel room and then all we had to do the next morning was wake up at 6 and be ready for boards at 7. Also a perk...hot tub! It was spank.

Mostly I have just been working since being done with school. Before I finished school macys transferred me to cosmetics with promises that they weren't able to keep so I made them switch me to another department. So now i am in jrs. it's pretty rad. I'm going to be so busy for the holidays but it will be nice. That is the one thing that I hated about cosmetics...There was hardly any customers there and I like to be busy at work. So jrs should be good for me. Plus I get to wear jeans!! YES. NO more black dress pants. I am so over that. Also if you will be shopping on black friday look for me at 5am in jrs. I will have already been at work for an hour. No big deal. I am seriously considering not sleeping the night before but lets be honest, how do you not sleep after a huge turkey meal? My thoughts exactly. Its just not even possible. This year Thanksgiving will be spent up in Island Park and i will have kyle to drive me home. Lucky him. I'll just sleep. plus i don't know if you know this about me but I LOAThe driving in the snow. I can't think of anything that I hate more... carboard is a close second with roast pulling up the 3rd spot. yuck.

Speaking of yuck. I have been sick for TWO WEEKS! ugh. it is not fun. The first week I had an upset stomach. Which really, I was only able to not eat anything for like two days then i could eat stuff it just wasn't that great of an idea. Then just as I was getting over that I picked up an AWFUL cold. It sucks. Alot. So I am currently still recovering from that. Heres my plug for the day. Tylenol Cold and Flu Severe. LOVE IT!!! Best 5 bucks ever. Plus i used a coupon and another coupon for cough drops. Be proud jill. I was going to go to Boise to check out apartments and jobs and what not this last week but I didn't make it because I wasn't feeling well so I need to do that soon. Other than that. I don't really think anything else awesome has been going on. That's not true. I seemed to have baked up a storm this last weekend. Peanut Butter Cup Cookies and Pumpkin Bread. Both delicious. As always. As if there was any question.

oh wait.. i forgot. I also have been watching bones. Pretty awesome. oh yeah and getting excited for Scrubs. man i love that show.

Things I am currently in Love with!

Well I've been trying to think about something that I want to blog about and right now all I want to do it talk about my new Paramore cd. Awesome. I didn't even know that they were coming out with a new cd until the day after it came out. I know right? What kind of crazy fan am I? Anyway I have been listening to this guys for YEARS. I would be willing to bet you that I listen to at least 2 of their songs everyday. They only have 3 cds. Love them. Anyway check out their new cd or if you don't have any of their other cds check those out too.

Lets see what else do I love right now? Oh these drinks that I discovered awhile ago called Cascade Ice. They are sparkling water with a little bit of juice in them. I first got hooked on them because they aren't soda which I am trying to do without but they offer some fizzy like I love. My fav flavor is Strawberry Guava or Mango Orange. Both Delicious.

I also am really loving my new job at macys. I now work at all the cosmetic counters. i just jump from one station to the next. I am like their on call person. It's pretty great because I got a pay raise, more hours and then on top of that commission. So that is awesome. Too bad we don't have a MAC counter becuase I would love that! Anyway today was only my second day doing that job but I think that I am really going to like it. I'll just be doing that through the holidays and then I'll be moving to Boise and hopefully getting a job at that Macys at a cosmetic counter and kicking butt!

Also I really love the number 1879. That is the number of hours that I ended up at last week. I think. It's hard to keep track. That means only 130 hours left. I'm sure not even that many lets be honest. I'm trying to be done with school on the 21st. So far it looks like that can happen. I can't tell you how excited I am for that change. I'll miss school but not at the same time. I take state boards the 9th of November and then it takes a couple of weeks to get my results so I can't legally take appointments until probably the first part of December which is fine because I wasn't going to do clients here since I am just moving to Boise in January. So yeah awesome.

I think that that is mostly the things that I am in love with right now. Lots of good and really exciting changes about to happen the next month or two. I can't wait!

Good Time

oh man. my friend savanna posted this website on her page on facebook and i cried multiple times from laughter. Good times. Go here or be sad. www.peopleofwalmart.com

Also on a side note.. almost done with school. Only 4 weeks and 1 day left!!! I can hardly wait. I'll be staying late at school and coming early so that I can get done sooner. It's a good time. I did three haircuts today and it was fun!!! I love doing cuts. So it was a good time. I was busy all afternoon which is nice because then I don't just have to sit around and wait for a customer to come in.

Oh snap I am still thinking about that website. good times. Check it out!

What's the deal?

here is my favorite thing that people say to me, around me, or about me while I am standing there. "oh I'm sure you're great but..." BUT WHAT? Here's the story. Seeing as how I am currently still in hair school whenever i ask people if I can do their hair or they ask me my advice about their hair and then they turn around and go to their regular stylist. Here's my big question. Why do you trust me enough to give you advice and what to do on your hair and then go to someone else who messes it up and then expect me to be overjoyed when you ask me to fix it and I fix it to make it look just like we had orginally talked about? I do not understand. Moral of the story. Either you trust me with your hair or you don't. I want you to because I LOVE what I do and I do good work!!!!

Awesome Weekend!!!

Dear Fellow Bloggers;

Today I write a blog to you from beautiful warm sunny Island Park. I would be outside enjoy the nice cool summer night, which i so love, but alas I feel like living through the night and not getting eaten by a swarm of bugs. So here I am inside on a chair. It's still pretty awesome though.

So this week was slightly crazy for me!! It was my birthday THREE times. It was awesome. On the 30th me and two friends from school took the day off and went to lunch at Arby's and then we went and saw the proposal. Which was funny I quite enoyed it. Then unfortunatly I had to go into work which is boring but I do love me some awesome money. Then the next day was my birthday and so I went to school and gave mom a haircut and then after that we went to the mall and picked me out a new shirt and a new skirt. they don't match but they are both cute. So i guess that they do match a little. Then we went out to dinner at Cafe Rio and that was tasty. I do enjoy some nice salad and they have a good one there. Mostly I think that it is their dressing. If any of you have been there you know what I am talking about. Then mom wanted to go to the movie but the only movies that she wanted to see were Wolverine and the proposal. So we went and saw the proposal again and that was just as good the 2nd time as it was the first. Then i went home and went to bed cause I was tired and I had to go to school the next day. Then on Friday julia, jeff and alex were going to be in town and it was Alex's birthday on tuesday so we had a combined bday party. (Shout out to alex turning one!) and then I opened my presents which were an ipod and a tea pot cause I decided i was going to start collecting them. We had a bbq with family and my friend missy from school then i went home and went to bed. Then on saturday for the 4th we went to the parade and I totally burned my back which still is hurting me and then we hung out and went to the annual bbq at my dad's shop and then went over to the river and watched the fireworks. They were pretty awesome. After the fireworks we went back to mom and dads and had a very mini fireworks war which was super awesome. So overall super busy week but it was totalyl fine cause I would rather be busy then not busy so that was nice. plus it was all fun things!!! so I think that pretty much sums up my week.

School is still going good. I can't believe that I am getting so close to being done. I only have 3 months left!!! Sometimes I know that I am ready to go out there and to make lots of money but then other times I am worried about the situations that will arise in the salon and how I can handle them. Hopefully I'll get a job at a good salon that will help me to continue to learn. that would be most awesome. I'm still planning on moving to Boise when I'm done with school inless something comes up for some reason which I don't see it doing. But you never know.

I should go because I am sitting downstairs in the cabin and Chole and Kelsey are upstairs and they keep passing me notes. it's taken me forever to write this blog so that I can stop and write back to them. This next note will be telling them to hit the sack or else.....

Nothing noteworthy

Here are things that I am annoyed with today.

1. people Talking through your nose rather than your mouth
2. Lieing
3. People who want to try on only one shoe at a time which forces me back into my stock room 600 times to get a shoe. Oh yeah and they want it in all different colors and all different sizes.
4. The man who invented the noise that blinkers make. SERIOuSLY!!!
5. My alarm clock. I know its going to be going off in 7 hours and it makes me mad
6. My cell phones battery. You all know how it is.
7. Money
8. My dress pants...all of them have suddenly become horribly saggy in the butt
9. My No soda rule. It's like everywhere I go Dr. Pepper is staring at me in the face. 10 days sober!!!!
10. My lack of desire to actually read a real book other than harry potter or twiligh

On a lighter note, here are somet hings that I'm happy about right now
1. Tithing
2. 8 Days Sober
3. My room mates fan that I stole cause she doesn't sleep here hardly ever anyway
4. My room mate who is never here and lets me take over the WHOLE apartment!!
5. My comfortable bed
6. My boise trip coming up on Friday! Can't wait to go chill for the weekend with Jeff and julia and alex i guess if I have to see him (don't let him read this post, he'll cry)
7. That I get to get a pedicure tomorrow from a massage therapist.
8. That the receptionist at school is getting canned
9. Family
10. Moroccan oil

Peace!

1150

So today i had a progress report at school and I'm at 1150 hours. Only 850 more!!! YES I can't wait. So I had orginally planned to move to Boise when I was done with school but now I don't know. (Stop freaking julia). Here's why. There is a girl at my school who is going to go and work on a cruise ship in september and I have ALWAYS wanted to do that. I guess the thing that always held me back was because I just thought that it wasn't really feasable. Well now that I know that it is and I have done some research I'm thinking about doing it.I would be out to sea for 8 months at least, I'd have to sign a contract, and then I would move to Boise probably. So I don't know what I want to do now. The other good thing is that I wouldn't have to pay for ANYTHING. The cruise line flies you out there probably to florida or wherever and board and food....FREE! The only expenses that I would have would be little trinkets that I find and buy. Which would probably be my whole paycheck. So anyway....I've got some seriously huge desicions to make here pretty soon.

Here's the other thing about my progress report. I had a small heart attack because I though oh. my.gosh. I am on the downward slope of school. When I started people were telling me once you hit 1000 hours time is going to fly and you'll never want to miss school. Well that is partially true. I didn't really ever want to miss school inthe first place. Even if I take a day 'off' I'm still at school for a leat part of it. The time is flying and I feel like i still have SO much to learn! Ok here is the perfect example. yesterday we had a 3 hour class on how to shampoo the hair. While most people see this process : Step one. wet hair. step two lather. step three repeat if necessary. Not the case for me. Which is how it should be. I learned different ways to make the soap lather, different massaging techniques, how to properly apply conditioner, and my personaly favorite how to do a neck rub while getting your hair washed!!! Let me tell you...AMAZING! You'll just have to come in and see what it feels like. Ok so back to my original point. We learned on like day 2 how to shampoo. Now that I am 7 months into it I learned again how to shampoo and I am sure that in another 1000 hrs I could learn an even better shampoo technique. I guess this is what I love about my job. I will always be learning something else something new and trendy. Also I like people feeling good after I'm done with them.

So I guess that's all you get today! Come see me at school cause I loathe working on my doll head. Oh yeah and I'm there saturdays now, all day!

Spirit Week at School

Well this week was spirit week at school. The School has offically been open for one whole year so we celebrated like schools do. Make a complete fool of our selves. Monday was hawaiian day wednesday was mohawk day and thursday was hat day.I wore the sombrero. It was awesome. So anyway here are some pictures to remember the event.

This is a side view of my 'hawk
This is my whole class. Just us Juniors. Not for long!!!You can see the hawk real good in this pic. Notice how most others have faux hawks. They just put ponies down the middle of their heads. FAKE FAKE FAKE. I was in an outrage.

Me and Missy on Hawaiian Day. I made my flower all by myself out of tissue paper

Part of my Class on Hawaiian Day
The Blonde lady on the end is one of the owners. She's also the teacher that bosses all the other around. She's pretty great. She's a redken colorist certified and has been working for 20 years. Lots to learn about color from her.

So that was spirit week or at least the cool parts about it. On mohawk day we had a fashion show. If only you could have seen my moves. It was awesome! On the 28th of April I move up and become a senior student at school. I'm super excited about it. I now go to school monday thru friday but starting then i will be going tues thru sat. This is a good thing becuase we will stay busier and not have to work on our manequins so much. I had to dig to find mine becuase I've been busy enough with clients that I haven't used it for over a month. It's been pretty great!
Macys is still going good. i decided that I need to learn Spanish because I get SOO frustrated with some customers becuae they don't speak english and then get upset with me because I can't understand them. I feel bad but at the same time I am like bring your 5 year old to translate next time. SERIOUSLY!
I think that this post is long enough! Hope you're all doing well!

Thought of the day

As I was responding to Leanne's post the thought actually crossed my mind AND sounded like a good idea to actually drive a motor home so that I can store all of my stuff in the car and make it organized. Does that mean that I have too much stuff or not a big enough car? I guess I should kick the habit of being a crap junkie. I did however only find 3 waterbottles which is pretty amazing since I used to have a TON of them in there. but anyway, that's my thought of the day. I need to downsize so that I don't have to get stuck driving the motor home. oh yeah and i counted all the cuts on my fingers from my shears....6. It's pretty awesome. I guess that i need to do better on that.oh yeah and the hair show was awesome. As soon as I have some pictures I shall post them for you all to see!

Sacred Things

ok so julia decided to put dog diapers on her poor dumb dog (the dog probably actually liked it) and the worst part is that she tried to tell me that dog diapers were sacred. I think not. So as a rebuttle I came up with this list that I thought was hilarious because quite frankly I think that I am hilarious so it just comes naturally that I make a funny list. here it is.

some things are sacred. I just don't know if doggy diapers is one of them. these however are:
1. Better off Dead
2. Scrubs
3. Julia's 8 ball leather jacket
4. Cy's cloud pants
5. The Clearance aisle at any store especially Target
6. Giant Chocolate chips at moms house
7. Moms new motorhome. Sizzy Sweet by the way!
8. 12lb fruitcake
9. The topping of peach cobbler
10. Hot chocolate
11. Watermelon
12. My shears...don't touch them

Feel free to comment on your "Sacred" things. I would love your list!

Here you go Leanne

Well leanne, here you go. Let me think of what I want to write while i tell you about the so very boring things going on. First off still in school. As of today i have 950 hrs. That means I only have 1050 left. YES! Almost half way there. I did a couple of really cute colors this week on random people so that was really fun. I really like color but I think that I like cutting better. You can always get your color fixed but you have to grow out your hair cut or cut it off if it isn't just right. So I like that people trust me with cutting. It's nice. I feel as if between school, work and my callings, that I have no time to do whatever. It's not always true. We are getting ready for a big hair show that is on tuesday and so that takes up my saturdays or it has been taking them up. I'm excited to be done with the show but also not because I'm slightly nervous. Hopefully everything turns out alright. So work is pretty boring. If i get so bored that I can't take it, I just get to try on shoes. The sad thing is that I wear an 11 so there isn't a whole lot of shoes that we carry in that size but I can still try them on. Or I can always take a break which is nice or go and talk to the neighboring people. Yesterday i went over to the makeup counter and played with makeup and perfume until it was time to go home. It was awesome. I left work looking really weird yet smelling delightful! It was a good time. Lets see what else...tomorrow I am coloring my hair again. I am going lighter. I want to be able to be strawberry blonde for summer so instead of frying my hair off in one session i will be doing it in a couple of sessions so that it is still super healthy. Anyway it should look good.
Here is a fun questioneer for you:
Age on next birthday: 24
Favorite Place to Visit: California or Island Park
Favorite Object: My bed!
Favorite Food: Chocolate
Favorite color: Purple
Fav Animal: monkey
Name of past pet Missy
Where I live: Idaho Falls
1st Grade Teacher: Mrs. Seal
Middle name: None
bad habit: Dr. Pepper
College major: English Education
I should really get to bed since I am still out at mom and dads house after making dad dinner and having him helpme with a school project. I'm making palm trees. Don't worry I'll post again soon. Hopefully with some pictures or something awesom eto keep you more entertained!

oops!

SO I guess that I really am not very good at this bloggin thing. Everytime I log in to check everyone elses I think, i should do a new post. So here is an update for you.

Christmas was really good! I got a lot of beads and other accessories to make my own jewelery, a coat, pjs, lotion, body wash, jewelry, Scrubs Season 7, and some clothes. It was a good Christmas even though it went by WAY too fast. I still enjoyed it. Mom bought herself a wii and Rockband so we played that alot which is awesome because well do you really need an explanation? It just is.

After Christmas I spent the next week in the hospital since dad had open heart surgery. So between work and playing i would spend lots of time there hanging out and teasing him by using my arms and hands to move things. HA HA. You would normally think that that would be cruel but if you know dad, you know that he would be doing the same thing if the roles were reversed. He even said the same thing.

For New Years I wasn't really in the big old partying mood (dad's surgery was two days previous) and lucky for me a friend had a cold that day so she didn't feel like doing much either so we went out to dinner and watch Oceans 13 at her house and then we toasted to the new year with new goblits and apple cider. It was fun. So now i like to drink out of my fancy goblits.

Since New Years I haven't really been up to much. Just getting back into the swing of things. Trying to think of New YEars resolutions since once again, I procrastinate and haven't set any in stone yet. Here are a couple that I was thinking of.

1. Get more sleep every night. Even if I go to bed 15 minutes early. I find myself draggin at school so I have to go and buy a soda but I want to cut back on the amount of soda that I consume so I thought that I would go to the root of the problem.

2. study my scriptures more and the Sunday School and RS Lessons. I used to do this but then I don't anymore. At least not as often as I should

3. Graduate from School by August 15.

4. Be Better with money. Including, packing lunches for school, making dinner more, keeping fresh food in the house so that I don't have to stop and get something to eat, hit up the cheap seats and print off and collect coupons.

5. Be more organized. I am horrible at this. But i am working on it every day some and I think that by the end of the year I'll be far more advanced than what I am now.

So those are just a few that I can think of right now. I have some smaller ones that I know that I want to do as well but I can't think of them right now because it is late and I am sleepy and I should hit the sack so that I can keep my resolution. SO....peace out!
